For decades, shrimp farming around the world has relied on open ponds — systems that consume massive amounts of water and land, discharge waste into fragile ecosystems, and are vulnerable to disease and destruction, including toxic chemicals and antibiotics. These outdated methods, often overseas, have created an industry dominated by imported frozen shrimp that is, in many cases, contaminated and lacks transparency and consistency.
Recognizing the urgent need for change, Aquatic Life Technologies developed a new generation of shrimp farming: the GEN-2 Multi-Phasic Super-Intensive Shrimp Production System. Engineering the Future of Shrimp Production
The GEN-2 platform is built on vertically stacked raceways that are fully enclosed to aid in controlling shrimp grow-out, minimizing energy consumption, and reducing corrosion in its facilities – a modular approach that allows each unit to be prefabricated, rapidly installed (plug-and-play), and easily replicated wherever demand exists. AL-controlled sensors in each raceway continuously monitor and adjust water quality, feeding, and growth conditions, ensuring a perfectly balanced ecosystem.
Our closed-loop, continuous water cleaning and oxygenation system, utilizing advanced, patent-pending technology, continuously filters and reconditions the water, removing waste, stabilizing pH, and maintaining optimal conditions for shrimp health and growth.
The system’s design enables year-round, continuous production and daily harvesting, thereby eliminating the boom-and-bust cycles characteristic of traditional pond operations.
